So a year went by...really?

A year went by and a lot has changed. I now work from home and the kids are getting huge. Carter is two and Ella 4. Ella is blowing my mind, she is turning into this wonderful GIRL. She got all signed up for Kindergarden yesterday and she is so excited. She also is mastering riding her bike which is something that she has been scared in the past to do. Now she keeps wanting to go for rides. I'm afraid that before long they will be runs for me and not just walks. But that will be good.

Last summer I did my first 10k, that is 6.2 miles. It went very well and I finished in under an hour. I am going to do another on in May. I am excited but have not really started training for it. Right now I have been just running to run. I like it...WOW did I really say that. I know it is weird and so not me, or not the old me anyway. I have found that in the last two years I have changed a lot and in all good ways. Growth is good. With that I'm going to bed. I have to run in the morning :)

Worst Feeling EVER

Even when you know there is not possible way, you still freak out.

This morning I'm in the shower and this is how our conversation goes:

T:  Where is Ella?
C:  In bed.
T:  No she isn't.
C:  Yes she is.
T:  No, the light is on and she is not there.
C:  Did she go up stairs?
T:  No.  ELLA???   ELLLA???  Where are you?

I jump out dripping grab a towel and drip water all over the house as we search for Ella.

T:  Ella????
C:  ELLA, THIS IS NOT FUNNY!  WHERE ARE YOU!!  meanwhile looking in the hiding spots of hide & go seek.
C:  SERIOUSLY ELLA!!!  COME OUT NOW!!!
Nothing. So at this point you wonder??  But the alarm is set and she can't open a door.
C:  ELLA NOW!!!
E:  I'm here.
C:  Where?
E:  Under the bed.
She is hiding behind toys so we could not see her at first glance.
C:  Why are you under the bed?
E:  Because I'm not ready wake up yet.

Kids.  This provided the worst feeling ever, yet I knew in my head that there was no way that she was really gone.

New Shoes

Who knew that getting new shoes for your kids could be a cardio-workout.  I have never moves so much ever.  We went to Little Chick here in Kalamazoo and they specialize in kids shoes.  Since my kids have wide feet like their mother that is where we shop.  And so trying to get a little boy to sit so they could tie his shoes was impossible and then to pick out shoes.  I think I may have just picked the first cute pair I saw.  Carter was running around the store and pulling shoes of the wall and rack faster than I could put them back on.  Poor Ella she was so good and so sweet.  I could hardly even see that her shoes fit because I was chasing Carter.  But the Flower Power (that is what we call Ella's shoes) are FAST.  Next time I need to remember to bring back up.

And I did forget to mention that two of the staff there were just watching me chase Carter and laughing.  They were making comments like "he doesn't walk, he runs".

Valentine's Day Gifts

So I realize that the Wii Fit is an item out there to be desired, but is getting one as a gift a message.  I got one from my husband for Valentine's Day and have to wonder just a bit, is he trying to tell me something?  Or is it that this is a gift for him more than it is me, since he was the one who was wanting the Wii in the first place.  Oh, I suppose that I should be glad that I did indeed get a gift, because that is not always the case.  I am excited to try it out none the less.
